ICE ®All-Stars - Pittsburgh, PA

Classes

ICE Pittsburgh offers a variety of classes instructed by a highly motivated and qualified staff. We keep our classes small with only 14 athletes max with a 1:7 coach/athlete ratio. We help our tumblers reach their goals, with correct form, in the fastest, safest manner possible. With proper progression and technique we can produce a more confident and disciplined athlete.  Each class is a flat rate of $65/month. We also have some multi-month bundling options available.  You will automatically be enrolled each month so there is no need to re-register once you are signed up.

Gymsters

This class is designed for children ages 3-5 and teaches them how to use their muscles, hold their own body weight, learn jumps and the very basics of tumbling skills (forward roll, backward roll, lunge, handstand and backbend). In order to move to Kindergym, athletes must have a handstand with straight legs and a backbend. It is the coach’s discretion to level up the athlete to Kindergym.

Kindergym

This class is the next level up after Gymsters.  Kindergym is for children of ages 5-7 (typically). This class is designed to further the basic skills of tumbling and moving on to cartwheels and backbend kickovers. In order to move to Basics 101, athletes must have a cartwheel and at least a backbend. Leveling up to basics will be at the coach’s discretion.

Basics 101

This class is designed to focus on the very tail-end of basic skills. We work on roundoffs, kickovers and walkovers. In order to level up, the athlete must perform a perfect round off and front/back walkovers with perfect technique. It is the coach’s discretion to level an athlete up to handspring class.

 Handspring Class

This class is designed to teach the basic gymnastics technique needed to achieve a standing back handspring and a round-off back handspring. In order for the athlete to move to level 2 they must demonstrate the following skills: standing back handspring (no spot), running round-off hollow body rebound (no-spot).

Level 2/3 Training

This class is designed to teach level 2 & 3 tumbling skills. Athletes will focus on techniques to learn or improve skills such as ariels, punch fronts, back tucks, back handspring series to back tuck and specialty passes.

Advanced Tumble (4/5)

This class is designed to further the advancement of level 4/5 tumbling skills. We begin by teaching layouts and the mechanics of twisting with the goal being a full twisting layout (“full”). Once both are achieved, we focus on enhancing the most advanced skills we can perform within the USASF safety guidelines such as double fulls and multiple bounding skills.

Flex / Jump / Fly

Flexibility is essential to cheerleading. To excel at stunting, flyers must be able to perform all body positions. When stunting at an elite level, flyers need to be able to execute extreme body positions and core control. This class will teach athletes body awareness and proper stretching techniques to maximize their flying potential. A portion of this class is dedicated to teaching the proper technique for all jumps and how to use flexibility training to improve jumps.

Strength & Conditioning

This class is a total body, heart pumping, aerobic and strength conditioning workout! Taught by professional soccer player, Keasel Broom, this class is full of a variety of exercises and elements to keep you moving. During a portion of the class, participants will use the Penalty Box Fit® which is a patented fitness product that uses four squares to take the place of an agility ladder. Each participant gets their own Penalty Box®. Get ready for an amazing workout that is bound to increase your strength and boost your energy. Participant age range is 9 and up and class structure will be based on skill levels of participants. Come join - anyone can do it!
